Jennylyn, Mark and Yasmien Reunite in Rhodora X

After the overwhelming success of the gay-themed drama, My Husband's Lover, GMA Network is once again innovating the primetime drama as it showcases another edgy and never-been-engaged-in theme on Philippine television, that is living with someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Topbilled by Starstruck pioneer winners Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, and Yasmien Kurdi, GMA presents its Filipino viewers a thought-provoking suspense-melodrama via Rhodora X. Rhodora X promises an exciting and intriguing plot as it challenges us to evaluate how deeply we know our loved ones and to discover subtle differences of our own personal relationships.

As excited as their fans, the Starstruck alumni, Jennylyn, Mark and Yasmien, are all very thrilled and happy to be working with each other again. The loveteam of Mark and Jennylyn, who were once real-life lovers, still has that spark and undeniable chemistry on-screen. Yasmien, after being in hiatus in showbiz, still has that pleasant charm.

Yasmien Kurdi, who was one of the network's afternoon drama princess before she decided to take a break in showbiz to finish her college degree, is not new to doing heavy dramas. Her experiences in her previous shows, working with veteran directors, have helped her to be the good actress that she is now. With these as her training, Yasmien is now more comfortable doing dramatic scenes.
However, Yasmien admits that she still finds her role in Rhodora X tricky. She plays the role of Angela, who blames herself when her sister Rhodora was kidnapped, but eventually becomes happy and content when Rhodora finally gets reunited with them. Adding more excitement to Yasmien's role is the surprise twist of Angela's character.

Yasmien, still simple and charming.

Mark Herras, who is known by everybody as the "Bad Boy of the Dance Floor," admits how challenging his role is as Joaquin. He admits that this is his most mature role yet and he's enjoying it. Mark promises a grown-up man in the series, and not any trace of his boy-next-door and teeny-bopper image.

Aside from his unquestionable dancing talent, Mark is also ready to prove that he has more than that. Excited and nervous to be working with veteran actors and playing a serious role, Mark promises an intense performance in the series. He even smiles as he proudly recalls that he hasn't been scolded by the director yet since their first taping day. Good job, Mark!

Now, how's working with his ex-lover, Jennylyn? It was never a problem to Mark and even to Jen. They have remain friends even after their break-up, thanks to the solid and strong bond they have, along with their other Starstruck batchmates.

Clean-cut and looking more handsome, Mark.

The title role, Rhodora, is played by Jennylyn Mercado. Jennylyn has proven so much when it comes to acting, and has really grown as an actress. This time, Jennylyn will once again get us hooked to her performance as she portrays a woman with two different personas, a woman with a split personality.

Aside from the anticipated reunion of the Starstruck Batch 1 alumni on primetime TV, another reason for the Filipino audience to watch out for this show is, as Yasmien says, is its "new, fresh and different concept, and more interesting and out-of-the-box story."

Directed by Albert Langitan, the upcoming series also stars Mark Anthony Fernandez, Gardo Versoza, Glydel Mercado, Irma Adlawan, Lollie Mara, Frank Magalona, Vaness Del Moral and Boots Anson-Roa. Along with new Kapuso shows Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw and Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, Rhodora X will premiere this January 27 on GMA Telebabad.

Yasmien was surprised by the Artist Center after the interview. Happy birthday, Yasmien!
