Brutally Tortured Rocco Nacino

Rocco Nacino, who won several acting awards from his first Cinemalaya movie in 2011, Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa, will once again prove that he's worth the awards and praises he continuously gets.

On this year's Cinemalaya, Rocco will be playing the role of an abducted farmer activist, Jonas Burgos in the movie Burgos. The movie is an advocacy film based on a true-to-life story of Mrs. Edita Burgos' tireless search for truth.

Burgos narrates a mother’s loss and her activism in seeking justice and exposing the truth about desaparecidos (disappeared persons allegedly held captive and/or killed by the military). It is a mix of the Burgos family's public profile as activists and each member's suffering since they started seeking justice for their family member, Jonas, who was abducted on April 28,2007.

Burgos not only tackles the family's search for Jonas, but it also depicts the people's social and political realities.

Photos in this article show the torture scenes brilliantly executed by Rocco. Yes, Rocco opted not to have a double in this scene.

Playing Mrs. Edita Burgos is grandslam actress, Lorna Tolentino. The cast also includes Tirso Cruz III, Allen Dizon, Dimples Romana, Bangs Garcia, Kerbie Zamora and Ina Feleo.
