Last Thursday night, December 22, 2011, I got the chance to attend the premiere night and watch "My Househusband, Ikaw Na" for free. Thank you for the VIP tickets, Rocco Nacino!
"My Househusband, Ikaw Na!" is Octoarts Films' official entry to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival, which stars real-life couple, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Ryan Agoncillo, and the country's leading comedienne today, Eugene Domingo. Also in the film are veteran actors Dante Rivero and Boots Anson-Roa as Judy Ann's parents, and promising actor Rocco Nacino who plays as Judy Ann's brother and confidant.
The movie talks about real-life scenarios of a typical Filipino couple. Ryan is great enough to portray a father who is equipped with sky-rocketing pride, someone who doesn't want to go down on his own level. Being a bank manager, he never imagined himself to be a househusband, but eventually loved and enjoyed becoming one during his work-free months. Judy Ann, as always, is naturally a superb actress. Judy Ann is Judy Ann, nuff said. I love their confrontation scene about pride - the audience didn't help but give an applause after this scene. Eugene, as expected makes the movie alive by throwing good punchlines and funny moments. She's definitely the best comedienne our country has ever had! Agot Isidro's role is convincing as Judy Ann's sister who always overreact on her sister's situation. Rocco Nacino, although his exposure are not always his, played well as Judy Ann's brother-slash-confidant. He did great on his first MMFF movie.
We should always have this kind of film every year. It's a feel good movie perfect for your family this Christmas!
Showing in cinemas nationwide starting December 25th. Movie is graded B by Cinema Evaluation Board.
